OCC Stretch your dies – Day 2: Die cuts within larger die

I’m back with another card for the Online Card Class – Stretch your dies. This time, Kristina’s card inspired me. What a fun idea to create a design by die cutting an arrangement using small dies. Here is my take on this technique:

At first, I die cut a group of stitched leaves from red cardstock. The leaves are from the Lawn Fawn die set called "Leaves Dies". Then I arranged the die-cut leaves on my work surface into a tight grouping and placed a masking paper on the die cuts to pick them up (keeping them arranged). I ran the masking paper with the leaves through my die-cutting machine with a circle die. I applied 3D foam pads to the back of each leaf die cut in the circle and pressed it down to my card base. At last, I carefully removed the masking paper. Wow! I’m totally in love with this technique and I will use it more often! I die cut the word "Celebrate" from black cardstock and heat embossed it with Liquid Platinium embossing powder. This die is from a Penny Black set called "Celebrations".

Have a wonderful day and see you soon with a new OCC homework card…
