MFT Creative Challenge - Go Overboard

Hi everyone! It’s time for the June My Favorite Things Creative Challenge. Today, the Design Team is featuring cards and projects with a water-oriented look.

First, I wanted to use the traditional nautical colors of red, blue and white. But I changed my mind and I chose something completely different. Here is what I came up with:

At first, I created the sky background. I made a mask with the Die-namics Wonky Scallop Border and I sponged some turquoise ink over it. Then I die-cut the Sailboat Die-namics and I colored the boat hull with Copic markers. To finish off my card, I added a wave border from the Making Waves 2 Die-namics set and a happy sentiment from the I love you more stamp set.

Maybe you know that I live in the Three Lakes Region in Switzerland and I love going on boat trips with our inboard motor boat and taking walks along the lake. Here are some "overboard" pictures from my region that I want to share with you (yes, there are also beautiful lakes in Switzerland, not only mountains LOL):

Where are you from? Is there also a lake or maybe the sea nearby? Do you like boat trips?

Be sure to check the MFT blog for more inspiration and projects from the Design Team in relation with this theme!

Thanks for visiting my blog and see you later for another MFT posting…

Hey there, beautiful pics of lakes by you!! And, No I am not one to go boating, I am terrified of water!! There are lots of little lakes in our mountains and two major lakes (Salt Lake & Utah lakes)!! I like the little lakes the best!! Anyways - I love the colors that you turned to for this card - the sails are so fun in that striped pattern paper and NO ONE sponges clouds as good as you do!! Wonderful card - so fun, so bright, and so happy!!! Have a great day!!

Love the water, our city is built around a chain of 5 lakes. Bring on the sunshine!
