MFT June Ingenious Inking Challenge

Hi everyone! Today I’m back with a card for the My Favorite Things June Ingenious Inking Challenge!

This time the Design Team is going to show you how to mix the MFT Hybrid Inks with Copic coloring. I couldn’t resist and I colored one of my favorite Birdie Brown set called You have my heart. I stamped the image with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. Here are some step-by-step pictures where you can see how I colored the hair:

I colored the stamped image with Copic markers and FOR THIS TIME ONLY (lol) I wrote down which colors I used for the hair:  Y21, YR23, E33, E29 and E49. (Please, don’t mind, but you know, usually, I go with my feeling when I color and I pick the markers randomly in the jar. I enjoy coloring in this way. It is what works best for me. You'll find TONS of color combinations on the Internet or Pinterest). I always color the skin at first and then I work from the top and the bottom of the hair to the center to blend the colors out. It makes blending much easier if you apply the colors in a flicking motion. For this image, I went from lighter to darker shades. Here is my finished card:

I made the sky using the Die-namics Wonky Scallop Border as a mask and I sponged some blue dye ink over it. Then I added a grass border cut from the Die-namics Grassy Fields. The sentiment is from another Birdie Brown set called You make my tail wag

Be sure to check the MFT blog for more inspiration and projects from the design team!

Thanks for writing down the copic colors you used for the hair - for copic newbies that is always very much appreciated. Luv your card coloring and design.

Oh, Francine, your coloring is fabulous! And what a beautiful sky! I often do what you do and use what hits me that day! I love her face and hair, sweet friend! Hugs!
Hallo Francine,
was für´ne bezaubernde Karte! Deine Coloration ist derart der Hammer, dass ich fürchte über kurz oder lang nicht um Copics herumzukommen. Die Farben sind ja unfassbar strahlend. Du hast es eindeutig drauf!
Ganz liebe Grüße
Steffi
