Make it Crafty CAS DT – Goodbye…

Hi everyone! I’m back with two cards for the Make it Crafty Design Team.

For the first card, I used the sweet Melody rubber stamp that I colored with Copic markers. I made the background using Dried Marigold Distress ink. First, I applied some ink down to a craft sheet. Then I sprayed some water over the ink with a Mini Mister until it made tiny drops. Finally, I pressed the paper to the craft sheet. Before I went ahead I dried the panel with my heat gun and I repeated these steps 3 times to create many layers until I was happy. A few weeks ago, I made a video tutorial with a similar background. You can watch the video HERE. The “hugs” sentiment is from Avery Elle.

For the second card, I used the Squeezes sentiment from the Doodle Hugs Word Chipboard set that I heat embossed with Liquid Platinum. I wanted to create a fun summer card with that sentiment and the "squeezes"-chipboard is a little bit like waves. I first made a mask (I drew the outline of the chipboard with a pencil on paper and I cut it). Then, I sponged Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks over the stencil and the paper. Finally, I added some water splatters with a paintbrush. Distress Inks react with water. So when you add splatters, they show up! In the end, I fixed the chipboard with liquid glue to the cardstock.

Don’t forget our CAS July challenge! It’s all about shaker cards. You can enter your projects HERE!

These are my last two cards for the Make it Crafty Clean & Simple Design Team. I decided to step down at the end of the month, earlier than expected. So sorry to leave you now, Zoe! But thank you so much for everything, most of all, for your kindness and your generosity. <3
