Penny Black Simplicity – City landscape by night

Hello everyone! I’m back with a card I made for Penny Black. This time, I decided to create a scene using the fabulous Metropolitan creative die (#51-169):

I first created a mask for the moon using a circle die. I then sponged Distress inks over the white panel and the mask (Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot). I made the stars with white paint that I splattered over the night sky and then removed the mask. I stamped the "Let your dreams take flight" sentiment from the Snippets stamp set (#30-283) on top of the moon as well as two birds from the Spread Cheer stamp set (#30-320). I cut out the Metropolitan die from black cardstock and fixed it with glue to the background to create a city landscape by night. To finish off my card, I adhered the panel on a top-folded card base and grounded the card with a white strip.
