Penny Black | Poetic 2017 Collection | Spotlight 3

Hello everyone! This month, I’m back with more cards for Penny Black featuring stamps and dies from their newest Poetic 2017 catalog. The mixed media portrait stamps are AMAZING and so versatile!

Here is my third spotlight and I’m showcasing the 40-551 Charlotte cling stamp:

I really LOVE the Penny Black portrait stamps. They can be embellished/customized as you like and no other crafter will achieve the same result. I went for a fashion portrait with lots of texture and dimension. I stamped the image in light ink onto white cardstock and used the no-line coloring technique. I colored the fashionista with Copics, pencils and even pan pastels. Next, I cut out the image using scissors as well as a hat shape from black cardstock. I mixed texture paste with black ink and covered the hat with this paste using a palette knife. The paste adds a lot of fun texture and it looks so real. Once it was dry, I fixed black tull on it. I adhered the image with foam pads to a top-folded card base that I splattered with black ink. I stamped the Party sentiment from the 30-358 Happy Snippets sentiment set in black ink. To finish off my creation, I added Diamond Stickles to the eyes and Black Diamond Stickles to the clothing/dress. Unfortunately, the picture doesn’t show how much it sparkles. The Black Diamond Stickles has black, clear and blue glitter and it just looks AMAZING!

Here are the stamps I used for this card (click to the images to enlarge):
