Same but different #9

It’s time for the "Same but different" May challenge. 

Here is a peek at the stamp set we used this month – "Hand Lettered Encouragement" from Simon Says Stamp: 



And this is my take on this set:




My first idea was to make a splatter with watercolors. But I changed my mind because it would have been too "easy" and predictable! LOL!  So I die cut a heart and used the negative shape left by the die cut as a mask. I got inspired by the new Online Card Class: it's all about masking (and self-made masks with masking paper). I then sponged some stripes with Simon Says Stamp dye inks onto a stitched panel (Lil’Inker Designs) to create a rainbow into the heart. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock, cut it out and fixed it with 3D foam pads to the background for more dimension. To finish off the card, I added a black card base and some sequins.
