Same but different #1

Pour les explications en français, cliquer ici.

Anja and I are two cardmakers from Switzerland. We love the same stamps and products! We also like to play with the different crafting techniques. This is why we decided to start a monthly challenge between both of us, which consists of creating a project with the same stamp, craft supplies or technique. It will be such fun seeing the similarities and differences in how the two of us use the same stuff. We got inspired by Jennifer McGuire (she spoke about those challenges in the Kick Start Online Card Class) and also by Christine's and Anni's "Lottie and Lisa" ("Das doppelte Lottchen").

We call our challenge "Same but different".

Doesn’t that sound like a cool challenge? If you have the same stamp and if you get inspired by our challenge, feel free to play with us! Leave a direct link to your project in the comment field below (No back links, please! It will be funnier to see new creations!). You can also upload your cards on our Same but different Flickr gallery!

Ok, let’s start with the first "Same but different" challenge.

Here is a peek at the stamp we used ("Up and Away" from Mama Elephant):

And this is my take on the stamp set:

I love this stamp set from Mama Elephant. The balloons are fun and the little animals super cute. But I saw many cards with those images and this is why I wanted to create something very different. I decided to stretch my stamps! The umbrella became a shell, one of the balloons turned into a pearl and I only used a part of the sentiment "Spread Happiness (wherever you go)". I made the background with the "Sunburst" stencil from Wendy Vecchi and Distress inks sponged with blending tools. I colored the shell and the pearl with Copic markers and fixed them to the background with 3D foam pads. To finish up my card, I added three adhesive pearls and a bit of Wink of Stella clear shimmer to the pearl in the shell. Do you like the way I stretched my stamps?

Now go and visit Anja HERE to see her gorgeous creation.

Hope you had fun with this post! See you next month for a new "Same but different" challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Francine

Darauf muss man erst mal kommen.
Viele liebe Grüße
Tanja

Liebe Francine,

This is so clever Francine! I don't think I ever would have seen shells in the umbrella image. Awesome creativity and a super fun card! :-)
