MFT October Product Launch
Hi everyone!Yay!It’s
time for the My Favorite Things October product launch! Today, you
can see all new products and they are available right now on the MFT online store!
Here is my card
featuring the newest Hand-Lettered
Christmas sentiment set:
You’ve probably
noticed that calligraphy has made a colossal comeback. Hand lettering is the
actual DIY trend. It gives a crafted and a perfectly imperfect charm to any
creation. The use of clean lines, watercolors as well as the use of black &
white with a subtle touch of silver or gold, are the basics to create any type
of logo and elegant layout. This is what I wanted to achieve with this stamp
set. I first stamped the sentiment onto watercolor paper with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then created the Christmas bauble
using a pencil. I used a Circle STAX Die-namics to draw a circle around the text. I
also drew a cap and a hanger. I first colored the ornament with Wild Cherry and Lush Lagoon dye inks and left it air dry. Once
it was dry, I added a layer of black watercolor (Newton & Winston). As the
black is not opaque, it kept the underneath layer still visible. I mixed the
black with Wink of Stella clear pen glitter to add a lot of
shimmer to the bauble (sadly, you can’t see it on the picture above). To finish
off my card, I added tiny black splatters all over the panel and I adhered the
watercolored panel to a top-folded card base. The design looks like a selfmade
hand-lettered old stylish Christmas card. I hope you like the idea! But the Hand-Lettered Christmas set is super versatile and you can create tons of fabulous designs with
these sentiments.
