…like a hammer loves a nail !

Hi everyone! Today, I want to share this card with you:

I created the background by myself using the faux metal look technique to give a vintage twist to my project. I first adhered a piece of Metal Foil Tape Sheet from Ranger to a cardstock panel. I then embossed the panel with an embossing folder from the Blueprint and Gears texture fades set from Tim Holtz by Sizzix. Next, I applied black acrylic paint over the embossed panel until the surface becomes completely black. I left it dry a few seconds (not too long – the paint shouldn’t dry completely) and I then removed the paint over the panel with a tissue paper in a circular motion. I didn’t remove all black paint around the pattern and the gears to give this faux metal look. I really love this embossed foil tape technique! It’s super fun! I can’t remember where I saw this technique first (many many years ago) but probably I have it from the well-known Tim Holtz. The hammer is a digital image that comes with the Carpenter Joe digi stamp set as an extra. I colored it with Copic markers and cut it out with scissors. I generated the sentiment with my computer (with Word) and cut out a banner around the sentiment. To finish off my card, I matted the faux metal panel on white cardstock then on a decorative Nestabilities cut from the Fleur de Lis Square die set from Spellbinders.

Have a wonderfulday…

Francine
