My Favorite Things – Flower Ring and Card
Hi everyone!
Welcome to this month’s Creative Construction with Blueprints!
This time we are
showcasing Blueprints with flowers and
foliage. Here is what I came up with:
Most of the
supplies I used for this project are linked in the link-up tool at the bottom of this post. I chose to
feature Blueprints 3 for my project. I went for something
different. I had the idea to create a ring with the smaller flower from the set
and I also made a card that matches with the ring. I'm a ring FAN and collector so this was obvious lol! I die cut the flower from
black cardstock and I heat embossed several layers of black UTEE (maybe 4-5
layers). If you want to give it a try but don’t have UTEE, no worries! It works
with black embossing power too. You just will have to
emboss more layers, maybe 8 or 10 (don’t be afraid!), to achieve the same
result. On the last layer, add a few sprinkles of white and gold embossing
powder and fine glitter and heat emboss again. Next, I fixed a black ring below
using a glue gun and two rhinestones. I made the same with the card panel. I die
cut the flower and then repeated the steps. I fixed the embossed panel onto a
top-folded white card base. I stamped the sentiment "You’re a gem" from the All Heart set onto white cardstock and cut it
out. I fixed the label with foam pads to the panel. To finish off my card, I
fixed two rhinestones. This could be a fun gift for a precious friend that likes rings!
