My Favorite Things – October Release Replay

Hi everyone! It’s time for the October My Favorite Things release replay! Today, the MFT design team is taking a fresh look at the most recent release.

My project is a card featuring the newest Let it Snowflake Too die set:

Most of the supplies I used for this project are linked in the list at the bottom of this post. I decided to use the dry embossing technique to create a fun background with the snowflake dies. What a fun technique! At first, I die cut the snowflakes (twice) from thick cardstock. I then placed a piece of white cardstock on the silicone mat and the snowflakes on top of the cardstock. I ran the stack through the machine. It created a beautiful relief on the cardstock. I die cut the cardstock using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics. Next, I blended different Nuvo Mousses over the stitched panel. I adhered it to a top-folded white card base using 3D adhesive foam. I die cut the Cheers Die-namics from Cotton Candy Sparkle cardstock. I fixed it on vellum with glue and the vellum to the card base with foam squares. To finish off the card, I added a New Year sentiment from the Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set. I really like the metallic and shiny effect on the background created with the Nuvo Mousses (but as usual, the picture doesn't show it!!!!) and the embossed snowflakes are fabulous!

Beautiful card, Francine! I love all the pretty pastels and I think the dry embossing technique is perfect for these snowflakes! Love your sparkly pink sentiment, too!
