My Favorite Things June Release | Day 4

Hi everyone! Today is the second day of the My Favorite Things June release countdown. This release is packed with amazing new products and I hope you’ll have fun with our preview projects!

The new products will officially be available on the MFT online store on June 5th at 9:00 pm EST (= Europe: June 6th at 3:00 am CET).

Today, I’m showcasing the newest Gill Friends stamp set by Birdie Brown:

Most of the supplies I used for this project are linked at the bottom of this post. I went for a clean and simple card featuring an underwater scene. I really like how it turned out. The fishes pop against the background and there is so much depth. I first blended Distress inks over a white cardstock panel and then I blended again using the Sunrise Radiating Rays stencil. I added tiny white dots here and there. It looks like the sun rays would shine and sparkle in the water. I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder. I die cut the panel using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX (set 2) and fixed it to a top-folded white card base with foam adhesive for more dimension. I stamped, colored and cut the fishes. To finish off my card, I adhered them to the panel using foam pads.

I absolutely LOVE this card. The background is so dramatic. What did you use for the sun rays stencil? Did you use a white ink pad to lighten that area? or did you do the revers and darken the rest?
