Spellbinders & FSJ Hello Summer Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the Spellbinders and FSJ Hello Summer blog hop! I’m thrilled to be part of this event and happy to share my project with you! There is an awesome giveaway. Check the details bellow.

The hop begins on the Spellbinders blog and if you have been hopping along, you should have come from Justine Hovey‘s blog. Make sure you hop around to all of the blogs featured in the link list at the bottom of this post.

For my card, I used products from FSJ Hello Summer Collection, especially from the fabulous Hello Summer Splash Project Kit (the products are also available separately):

I first created a background using Distress inks and blending tools. To add interest to my underwater background, I used the Splash Zone stencil that I gently sponged with blue ink over the right edge. I splattered some water to the panel. Once it was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Make Waves stamp set to the background and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I adhered the panel to a top-folded white card base. Next, I stamped the mermaid, also from the Make Waves stamp set, onto white cardstock in black ink, colored and cut her with scissors (but there are coordinating dies too). I fixed the mermaid with foam pads to the underwater background for more dimension. To finish off my card, I added some of these fabulous Splash Zone sequins and tiny clear drops made with Glossy Accents. They really look like water drops and it adds texture!

*** GIVEAWAY ***

To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to one lucky blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. The giveaway closes on Monday, July 1st, 11:59 pm EDT. The winner will be announced in the Spellbinders blog hop post the following Tuesday.
